Very narrow! You can't see anything that's behind the stuff in the front! Just imagine how much of a hassle it is to get to the stuff in the back! Imagine how many times you find things that have expired because you forgot about them because you couldn't see them! Or maybe you don't have to imagine either of those scenarios because this is what you live with everyday! The TRINITY Wire Baskets on Slides featured in the previous post are too wide for this pantry, unfortunately. This pantry was only 12 inches wide and the baskets are 13 inches wide so that wouldn't work.
Luckily, we've got TRINITY Drawers on Slides that would fit perfectly because the drawers are 11.5 inches wide! (And just in case you're wondering, yes, the interior width is wider than 12 inches, but in order for the drawers to come out of the pantry--which is the entire point!--we had to go with the width of the pantry opening itself.) The original plan was to install 3 drawers on slides (one for each shelf). But, after installing the slides on the first shelf, I reassessed and decided, instead, to install one drawer on slides and a 2-Tier Drawer on Slides! This was a bit trickier than the previous project because I actually had to remove the shelves to install the slides first to ensure that the drawers would fit properly, using the handy-dandy template for installing the slides. Given that I only had a quarter of an inch of clearance on either side, I had to be really precise! Oh, and readjusting the height of the shelves wasn't an option, which is why that top shelf was left untouched. Shelves removed Shelves removed for installation of slides.
